Small Group Ministries

At CPC small groups are the basic unit for spiritual growth and development, fellowship, and caring. Groups meet regularly to worship, pray, study, share life together, and engage in ministry and mission.

Scriptural foundation - Hebrews 10:24-25, "And let us consider how we may spur one another toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Group types:

Fellowship Groups –Typical groups follow a format based upon the Stephen Ministries’ ChristCare model.

Groups covenant to:

  • Seek to grow and know God better through study of God’s Word, prayer and living out Christ’s love for one another.
  • Seek to know one another better by listening, expressing feelings, accepting other’ feelings, relating assertively, and accepting one another (and ourselves) unconditionally.
  • Seek to equip group members to reach out with Christ’s love to visitors, new group members, and serve others outside the group.
  • Care for one another by being available to one another during times of crisis, encouraging and praying for one another.
  • Keep strictly confidential whatever group members share, both during and outside of meetings.
  • To give priority to the group meeting and its purposes.
  • Commit to a specific time period for the group’s purpose.
